    The higher ranked Turkey have beaten New Zealand 3-1 in their Davis Cup tennis tie in Auckland


    After being pipped in the doubles during a third set tiebreaker, New Zealand's Ajeet Rai has lost the first reverse singles match 6-3, 6-2.

    The final singles match - involving first day winner KP Pannu - is now a dead rubber and won't be played.

    New Zealand is demoted to World Group II while Turkey advance to World Group I .
