Defending women's champion Coco Gauff feels a recent experience in Auckland will keep her on her toes for her third round match at the US Tennis Open

Defending women's champion Coco Gauff feels a recent experience in Auckland will keep her on her toes for her third round match at the US Tennis Open

The third seed's won her round two match in New York over Germany's Tatiana Maria in straight sets.

It puts Gauff through to a clash with the player she beat in January to clinch back-to-back ASB Classic titles - two time Grand Slam semifinalist Elina Svitolina of Ukraine.

Among those also through to the third round are Aryna Sabalenka, Madison Keys and Qinwen Zheng - and in the men's draw Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Ben Shelton.
