Pro-Palestine protestors have failed to deter four-time grand slam champion Naomi Osaka from advancing to the second round of the ASB Tennis Classic in Auckland

Pro-Palestine protestors have failed to deter four-time grand slam champion Naomi Osaka from advancing to the second round of the ASB Tennis Classic in Auckland

She overcame her opponent, Israeli qualifier Lina Glushko, who was heckled from beyond the stadium precinct.

Glushko has completed compulsory military service with the Israeli Defence Forces.

    Osaka describes her observations.

Local hope Lulu Sun fell to Canadian Rebecca Marino in three sets.

The appropriately named Katie Volynets advanced in the evening session, but Ann Li beat former US Open winner Sloane Stephens.
