Third seed Jessica Pegula has been ousted by Elisabetta Cocciaretto , also in straight sets.

Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova has advanced, as has the men's top seed Jannik Sinner.

Sixth seed Novak Djokovic is one set all with Alexandre Muller.
