Two people are seriously injured after a fleeing driver drove the wrong way on an Auckland motorway

Police say a young person allegedly driving a stolen vehicle entered the Northern Motorway at the Wainui off-ramp and drove the wrong way.

The vehicle collided with an unsuspecting member of the public at around 6.20 this morning.

Police say it's a miracle no one died.

The stolen Toyota Aqua was being tracked by the Police Eagle helicopter.
