More capacity for Auckland's North Shore Hospital - with a quicker pathway to gynaecological cancer diagnosis

More capacity for Auckland's North Shore Hospital - with a quicker pathway to gynaecological cancer diagnosis

Its new outpatient hystero-scopy service will combine a specialist uterus assessment and diagnostic procedures into one visit.

The hospital expects to deliver around 60 of these clinics over the next year, and around 240 procedures.

Health Minister, Simeon Brown, says more room will now be available for patients undergoing complicated procedures.

He says it'll free up capacity in operating theatres, as well as supporting women through the process of being diagnosed.
