Police continue their search for a suspect after a person was seriously injured in an assault on Howe Street in Auckland's Freemans Bay

Police continue their search for a suspect after a person was seriously injured in an assault on Howe Street in Auckland's Freemans Bay

The person was taken to hospital about 3:30 yesterday afternoon with injuries consistent with a stab wound.

Police say the offender left in a nearby vehicle - and they're working to find the vehicle and identify the person.

Auckland Girls Grammar and a nearby early childhood centre were temporarily put into lockdown following the assault.
