China Eastern Airlines is now flying from Shanghai to Buenos Aires twice a week including a two hour stop in Auckland - with the journey totalling up to 29 hours.

This comes as the airport continues its biggest expansion ever - planned to total more than six-billion-dollars.

Auckland Airport Chief Customer Officer Scott Tasker says this will help position New Zealand as a global travel and trade hub.
