    Humidity in Auckland has hit 93 percent - and MetService says temperatures in the Super City are not expected to drop much lower than 29 degrees as the day goes on


    Meanwhile, a heat alert's been issued for Napier, which has hit 31 degrees, with warnings for people to keep hydrated, seek shade and check vulnerable people, pets and livestock.

    Gisborne is close behind on 30 degrees, followed by Whangarei, Christchurch and Timaru on 27.
