One person is receiving hospital treatment for burns suffered in house fire in Christchurch

Fire crews were called to the blaze on McLeans Island Road just after 11 last night.

They remained on the scene until about 4.30am, monitoring for more hot spots.

Fire and Emergency says a member of the public was treated at the scene for burns, and then transported to hospital.

A fire investigator is due back at the scene this morning, but the fire isn't being treated as suspicious.
