Milford Road is closed due to snow and tree fall.

Heavy Snow Watches for Fiordland, Southland, southern Otago and Stewart Island have lifted, but snow showers may continue to low levels.

Weather Watch's Phillip Duncan says today's wind chill is brutal, and will be followed by frost tonight.
