    Christchurch police are hunting the person who critically shot a woman in Wainoni overnight


    She was found with what appears to be a serious wound at a property on Shortland Street just before 9pm.

    Our newsroom understands she was hit in a drive-by shooting, and may not have been the intended target.

    Police say the person responsible fled in a vehicle.

    The scene is under guard - with extra Police in the area.
