Membership-only US retail giant Costco Wholesale might be coming to Canterbury

Membership-only US retail giant Costco Wholesale might be coming to Canterbury

Its first New Zealand store will debut in Auckland this winter, but a Government briefing paper's revealed the possible location of a second store.

The more than 100-million-dollar, 13-thousand-900 square metre store with 847 car parks has already been consented for Rolleston in Selwyn.

But consent hasn't been approved by the American retailer - rather, by Christchurch developer Cater Group's Rolleston Industrial Holdings.

With Costco on board, it could see Cantabrians get access to Kirkland-labelled food, life-sized teddy bears, discounted coffins and much more.
