Christchurch police say retaliation will not be tolerated - after the death of a man following a gang altercation

Three other people were injured in the incident, which involved a firearm, on Hoani Street, Northcote last week.

Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves says those involved were from two separate gangs, but it wasn't a gang-motivated attack.

She says police are now considering further charges against the 19, 31 and 40 year olds who've been remanded in custody on aggravated wounding and robbery charges
