Fireworks are believed to have started a large vegetation fire in Dunedin

Fire crews received multiple calls about a bush fire at the entrance to the beach at Tomahawk Lagoon just before 8.30 last night.

The blaze was about 100 metres long and three metres deep at its height.

There were two other smaller fires nearby also believed to have been started by fireworks.

They've all since been extinguished.
