A club competition in Wellington isn't quite a World Series leg in Spain but it'll have to do for the All Blacks Sevens players

It had been hoped both the men's and women's teams would rejoin the World Series in Malaga this month ... but current border restrictions have dashed those plans.

Men's coach Clark Laidlaw says they're exploring domestic tournaments as an alternative to stay match fit ... starting with a club event in Wellington.

Laidlaw's named five fresh faces in his squad for 2022 including Blues Under 20s players Che Clark and Caleb Tangitau .
