Buses will replace trains on most Wellington lines and all Auckland lines this Waitangi weekend

Buses will replace trains on most Wellington lines and all Auckland lines this Waitangi weekend

In Wellington, KiwiRail is set to carry out planned rail infrastructure upgrades around the region, building on the work it carried out over summer.

Crews will be working to replace tracks, rebuild the Ava Bridge, and upgrade level crossings on the Wairarapa Line.

The Johnsonville Line will run as normal, but Metlink says delays are possible and passengers should check timetables.

In Auckland, testing is being carried out on the City Rail Link.
