Wellington Police are investigating the death Joanne Ingham, famed for stowing away on a ship with her twin in the 1990s

Wellington Police are investigating the death Joanne Ingham, famed for stowing away on a ship with her twin in the 1990s

The 43-year-old's body was found at a Te Aro motel about 2.40 this morning.

Her death is being treated as unexplained and the scene being examined.

In the 90s, the then 18 year olds stowed away on a Malaysian container ship - and claimed to have jumped overboard off Queensland to swim ashore through crocodile-infested waters.
