    The Wellington Phoenix are disappointed to lose marquee striker Kosta Barbarouses


    The club's top goal-scorer for the past two A-League seasons has informed his employers that he won't return next season, and will play elsewhere.

    Director of football Shaun Gill explains how the parting of ways played out.



    Gill says the Phoenix thought the 35-year-old was in the best place to push for All Whites World Cup selection next year.
