    The Labour Party has selected economist and trade unionist Craig Renney, as its candidate for Wellington Bays, in next years election


    Renney is currently the Economist and Director of Policy, at the CTU.

    He's also was adviser for former Finance Minister Grant Robertson, from 2017 to 2020.

    Labour lost the seat, currently called Rongotai, after having held it from 1996, losing it to Green MP Julie Anne Genter in the 2023 election.
