A Porirua woman's been remanded on bail after allegedly attempting to partially cut off her husband's penis

Herald reporter Melissa Nightingale says the woman's been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She says the woman's accused of partially cutting off her husband's penis while he slept, because she believed he was cheating on her.

The woman appeared in the Porirua District Court this week, where it was requested she be given interim name suppression until a mental health report could be done.
