Those receiving drones as a Christmas present today, are being urged to read up on the rules, before taking to the skies

Those receiving drones as a Christmas present today, are being urged to read up on the rules, before taking to the skies

Civil Aviation Authority data reveals reports about drone behaviour surge by 30-percent at the start of each year.

Deputy Chief Executive of Aviation Safety David Harrison says there's been situations where helicopters fighting fires have had to be grounded because of irresponsible drone owners.

He says it only takes one drone being in the wrong place at the wrong time to cause major disruptions or an accident.
