Venezuela live: Trump doubles down on oil plans, floats US operation in Colombia

It comes as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says discussions of Venezuela holding elections following Nicolás Maduro's ouster are "premature", with Washington focused on ensuring Caracas now carries out policy changes.

US President Donald Trump says further strikes could be launched on Venezuela if interim leaders do not cooperate with his government.

He has also indicated the US could undertake a similar operation in Colombia, as deposed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro awaits a court appearance in a New York prison.
