Hamas prepared to release all Israeli hostages under Trump's Gaza plan — as it happened

The US president says "this is a very special day" and thanks other countries for their assistance in the peace proposal.

US President Donald Trump has told Israel to immediately stop bombing Gaza after Hamas agreed to some terms of his 20-point peace plan.

Hamas said it was prepared to release all Israeli hostages, both alive or dead, under the terms of Trump's Gaza proposal.

The group also reiterated its agreement to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to an independent Palestinian body.

The US president said "this is a very special day" and thanked other countries for their assistance in the peace proposal.
