The Levin District Court will be closed indefinitely from next Monday for earthquake strengthening

The Levin District Court will be closed indefinitely from next Monday for earthquake strengthening

The Ministry of Justice says there'll be significant disruption, and court hearings will be transferred to other centres.

While the building meets current standards, it won't meet proposed new guidelines for concrete buildings.

These are the same guidelines that the now closed Wellington Central Library was assessed against.

Planning is still underway for the work at the district court and a reopening date has not yet been confirmed.
