    The provisional Queen's Birthday weekend road toll is two


    One person died following a crash on State Highway Two near the Karangahake Gorge on Saturday night.

    Also on Saturday, a cyclist was also killed in a collision between a cyclist and a car in the Christchurch suburb of Hoon Hay.

    The period started at 4pm on Friday and finished at 6 this morning.

    Last year the toll was six.
