    State Highway 35 has reopened, following a serious crash near Ruatoria this morning


    Ambulance officers came across the scene shortly after 2am, and alerted other emergency services to the ute that had crashed into a ditch.

    Five people were in the vehicle, and four were trapped.

    One patient is critically injured in Waikato Hospital, and two patients are in a serious condition at Gisborne Hospital.
