    A person has died at an Auckland railway crossing overnight - thought to be hit and killed by a train


    Police, Fire and Emergency and ambulance were called at 1am to the crossing on St Georges Road in Avondale.

    Trains were forced to stop in both directions while police investigated.

    Thick fog at the time, may have been a factor.
