Kiwirail is starting its next tranche of work on Auckland's train lines

Kiwirail is starting its next tranche of work on Auckland's train lines

After finishing work on the Western line it will now target the Southern line between Pukekohe and Papakura.

Repairs will last until mid-January next year.

That part of the line has been closed since 2022 for electrification.

Kiwirail Chief Infrastructure Officer Andre Lovatt says they'll take advantage of it being out of action to do extra repairs.

He says doing the work all together will prevent disruption further down the line.
