The mother of a missing Christchurch 17-year-old has thanked the search team for their efforts to find her son

Marley went missing last Friday - after he was last seen in Scarborough.

Police search teams are conducting a detailed search of Nicholson Park and the surrounding bush area near Sumner.

They will be looking to expand the search along the coastline between Pines Beach and the Godley Head peninsula.

Marley's mother says the family's incredibly grateful for the support from the community - adding the professionalism of the Police and searchers is incredible.
