A young driver accused stealing a car and colliding with other vehicles in Christchurch is appearing in Youth Court today

Police received reports a vehicle had been stolen from a business on Papanui's Langdons Road - about 4.30pm yesterday.

Senior Sergeant Craig Ellison says the car was driving dangerously and didn't stop for police - and due to the nature of the driving was monitored driving around the city, but not pursued .

One person was taken into custody after the vehicle eventually stopped on Barrington Street.
