    Staff and students of Pigeon Mountain Primary School are receiving counselling


    A young girl was hit by a car outside the east Auckland school on Tuesday - and remains in a critical condition at Starship hospital.

    Police have forbidden a 77-year-old man from driving.

    School board member Mark Eades says the school's being supported by a specialist Ministry of Health team.

    He says the school's in daily contact with the girl's family.
