New South Wales Police they have found the body of a man who was swept away by floodwaters yesterday

Formal identification of the body has not yet been completed but if confirmed it will be the first fatality of ex-Topical Cyclone Alfred.

The system has been downgraded to a tropical low, however concern remains for flooding across parts of eastern Australia.

A number of Australian army personnel have also been injured after two vehicles crashed near Lismore in northern New South Wales.
