Firefighters have put out a large blaze at a commercial property in Auckland's Orewa overnight

Firefighters have put out a large blaze at a commercial property in Auckland's Orewa overnight

Fire and Emergency says it was called to the main town centre at about 11:20pm yesterday.

It responded with five crews including two ladder trucks.

A spokesperson says a two-storey property was on fire - with the front entry of a cafe well-involved.

They say the crew forced their way inside the building - extinguishing the blaze and leaving at 12:30 this morning.

A fire investigator will be attending the scene.
