Act's David Seymour says he despairs at last night's Parliamentary debate on sanctioning Te Pati Maori MPs

Act's David Seymour says he despairs at last night's Parliamentary debate on sanctioning Te Pati Maori MPs

The House voted for seven, and 21 day suspensions, for three MPs who performed a haka during voting on the Treaty Principles Bill.

During the three-hour debate - which included heckling and name-calling -- MP Rawiri Waititi brandished a noose.

Seymour wasn't in the House for the debate, but calls Waititi's action reprehensible.

He says he hopes there will be questions raised in the Maori world about whether the Party deserves to hold six seats.
