Whanau Ora says Maori continue to fall behind in vaccination numbers

Whanau Ora says Maori continue to fall behind in vaccination numbers

Whanau Ora is seeking data from the Ministry of Health for children aged under 11 so it can create a targeted approach for them.

The Ministry hasn't released the data but says it's working to process the request, including consulting with the Privacy and Children's Commissioners.

Whanau Ora CEO John Tamihere says they're losing valuable time.

Mr Tamihere says they wanted to have children vaccinated before school starts and it will now be more difficult to get the job done.
