Another report's highlighted Maori mental health patients being confined on their own in seclusion more than others

Another report's highlighted Maori mental health patients being confined on their own in seclusion more than others

The Chief Ombudsman's third report in less than a year highlights troubling issues at a Palmerston North Hospital mental health inpatient unit.

Peter Boshier is asking the Ministry of Health to look into it - and says the practice seems to be increasingly used for Maori.

He highlighted the issue in a Bay of Plenty mental health unit a week ago - and at a Whanganui facility last year.
