Wairoa police are investigating after shots were fired at a police station and an officer's home

Wairoa police are investigating after shots were fired at a police station and an officer's home

A gun was fired into the door of the officer's home about 11 o'clock on Saturday night.

And the Wairoa police station was fired on about 9.25 last night.

Acting Eastern District Commander Iain Chapman says the targeted attacks on police staff won't be tolerated.

He says an important part of provincial and rural policing is that staff, and their families, live in the area where they work.
