    An assessment's confirmed Tauranga is heading for a housing supply shortfall


    The city council's notified the Environment Minister supply won't comply with requirements for the National Policy Statement for Urban Development.

    New forecasts show that demand for standalone and attached dwellings in the city, could exceed supply by 11-hundred in the next three years.

    Council commission chair Anne Tolley says work's underway to address the housing and population growth challenges.

    She says because many issues are directly controlled by government, it's important they work together ensure the right type, and price of homes are being delivered.
