    A Tauranga soprano now based in Hamilton has won first prize in this years New Zealand Aria Competition held in Rotorua this weekend


    Sarah Mileham, a student at the Aotearoa New Zealand Opera School, won top honours ahead of second-placed Catherine Winitana, and Jordan Fonoti-Fuimaono, third.

    The New Zealand Aria Competition has been running in Rotorua since 1946, and is the largest event of its kind in New Zealand, attracting local and international opera artists.
