A former Wairoa restaurateur is facing liquidation over a 400-thousand dollar debt to Inland Revenue

A former Wairoa restaurateur is facing liquidation over a 400-thousand dollar debt to Inland Revenue

Last month I.R. successfully applied to place Layton Gemmell Limited, the company behind Gemmells restaurant, into liquidation.

The business ceased operations in August but has since reopened under new management.

The new owner, Manaaki Corporation, is half owned by Layton Gemmells' wife Angie.

Layton says he plans to stay on and help the new owners employ local staff and keep the business viable.
