    Hawke's Bay health officials have issued a warning as a gastro bug outbreak hits the region


    Seven childcare centres and one school in Hastings and Napier have been impacted.

    A Hawke's Bay Hospital ward remains in lockdown following the spread of norovirus.

    DHB medical officer of health Dr Nick Jones says hand hygiene is very important to prevent spread of the bug.
