A Hawke's Bay man is facing drink driving charges after blowing nearly six times the legal limit before midday on Thursday

Police say the man's driving didn't ring immediate alarm bells but he was stopped.

They say the 33-year-old was on a no alcohol licence.

He will be in Taupo District Court in mid September.
