A Foxton teenager's on the road to recovery after losing his leg at a boyracer meet

A Foxton teenager's on the road to recovery after losing his leg at a boyracer meet

CJ Holmes's leg was amputated beneath the knee, after being struck by his sister's partner, whose car spun out when doing skids on a rural street in June.

The 15 year old is now in a wheelchair, while he gets a prosthetic leg built.

Holmes says it hasn't got in the way of his love of cars, but says he has learnt a valuable lesson to not be an "idiot" and stay out of the way when watching others do burnouts.
