    Kiri Allan has pulled out from visitng the West Coast


    The Emergency Management Minister couldn't get there last night and had to stay in Christchurch.

    She was planning fly to Westport today then to Karamea.

    She's returned to Wellington

    Heavy rain's affected highways into Westport.

    The Lower Buller Gorge from Inangahua has just closed again due to a fresh slip.

    Contractors are trying to get it reopened.

    State Highway 67 - Fairdown to Mokihinui - is still closed due to slips and surface water.

    State Highway 6, south of Fox Glacier township to Haast, is open again.

    Two highways into Westport are closed due to slips and flooding - State Highway 6 and State Highway 67.
