WorkSafe says it's making initial enquiries following the death of a skier on Queenstown's Coronet Peak

The woman died after an incident at the bottom of Sugar's Run, which is accessed by the Coronet Express chairlift.

It's thought she suffered a suspected medical event, but one skier says the woman appeared to lose control and crashed into a fence post.

Police say they're continuing their investigation.
