    One person's in hospital after suffering burns in a Southland house fire


    Fire and Emergency was called to the blaze on Barrow Street in Bluff, shortly before 8am.

    Crews saw so much smoke filling the sky from their nearby station that they immediately called for backup.

    A person with moderate injuries has been taken to Kew Hospital.
