Positive environmental news for the Otago region...

The Regional Council has funded nine environment-linked projects, with more than 33-thousand dollars provided for their consenting and monitoring costs.

None was declined funding from the 50-thousand dollar annual funding support pool.

Otago Regional Council Consents Manager Alexandra King says there are amazing people doing great work, and it's important the largely community-led projects are assisted.

Recipients include Te Runaka Otakou Limited, and the Otago Youth Adventure Trust.
