Cyclist Ben Oliver's bracing for the elements that have become a feature of the Tour of Southland

Cyclist Ben Oliver's bracing for the elements that have become a feature of the Tour of Southland

108 riders will contest the 68th edition of the race - which has just started with a team time trial in Invercargill.

Oliver - who won Commonwealth Games mountain bike silver at Birmingham - says the changing landscape offers a box-of-chocolates forecast.

Oliver will combine with his brother Craig - and 2022 winner Josh Burnett - in the NZ Cycling Project Team.
