The Wellington rain has had the final say in the Firebirds T20 Super Smash season

The Wellington rain has had the final say in the Firebirds T20 Super Smash season

Weather prevented any play in the final regular season match at the Basin Reserve - Wellington needed a win over Northern Districts to snatch Canterbury's place in the top three.

The Firebirds finished with the same win-loss record as Canterbury, but were behind on net run rate.

The Brave and the Kings meet in tomorrow's elimination final in the capital for entry into Sunday's final against Central Districts.

In the women's competition, Otago awaits the winner of the elimination final between Wellington and Northern Districts.
